Dan McInerney is a guitarist and songwriter who began his career as a professional musician in 1980 when he formed his first band, "On Ice." He formed his current band, ZipperLips, in 2001. This contemporary jazz instrumental group showcases Dan's silky-smooth guitar work.
Dan McInerney's trademark is taking smooth jazz, blues and country to new heights with his aggressive and technical lyrical guitar style. Guitar Nine Records has compared him to "Larry Carlton, Jan Akkerman and Jeff Beck all rolled into one."
Dan was the Executive Producer of his first CD, Machinery, in 1998, which included 8 original songs. His original composition on that album, "Gravity" was voted the #1 Song by Guitar Magazine for its 30th Anniversary Guitar Competition.
Dan has recorded with Tony Coleman, Earth, Wind and Fire, and on the Grammy nominated CD by Lucy Mongrel. He has opened for Ray Charles, Wynona Judd, and Ike Turner, among others.
He continues to compose and produce commercial music for successful companies and artists in his state-of-the-art home studio as well as in various recording studios.
For over 15 years Dan has been teaching future guitar stars, stressing technique and musical theory in an instrumental setting, while consistently maintaining his performance schedule around the Pacific Northwest.
